The Elbe is home to a very special region. Unique cultural and natural landscapes alternate here: Endless orchards, rare rain moorland and unspoilt forest. Many migratory birds breed and raise their chicks here. In early summer, the sea of blossom in the apple orchards offers a unique sight in the largest contiguous fruit-growing area in Northern Europe – the Altes Land.
