One programme, lots of topics, lots of different narrative forms: from classic reports to service soaps, as a compilation or for the YouTube community. With programme lengths from 30 to 90 min.
We follow our characters as they venture into the colourful world of camping. Whether in the great outdoors in a rooftop tent or snugly in a caravan by the seaside – the new and unknown is an enormous challenge. Authentic and eventful.

Season 7
In the current seventh season of our documentary series “We’re off camping!”, the campers try out lots of new travel destinations again: they travel to Greece in a camper van, to England and Ireland in a motorhome, to Hungary in a camper, and we also get to know Germany and our neighboring countries Austria and the Netherlands even better. It’s worth tuning in. Starting July 23, Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m. on WDR television and in the WDR media library.

Season 6
In the sixth season of our documentary series “We’re off camping!”, the protagonists are drawn to the Scottish Highlands, the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, from the Atlantic coast to Paris, to the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, to Switzerland and Italy. As diverse as the destinations are, so too are the interests and plans of our families. Starting July 17, Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m. in the WDR media library and online on the YouTube channel “WDR Reisen.”

Season 5
In the fifth season of our documentary series “We’re off camping!”, the protagonists are drawn to the Polish Baltic Sea coast, to Liguria in a converted van, to the delicacies and attractions of Slovenia, to Sweden in a Unimog, to Holland in a pink caravan, or to South Tyrol with the whole family in a new caravan. The destinations are as varied as the interests and plans of our families. Starting July 5, 2023, on WDR.

Season 4
Traveling to the North Cape in a glamping van or to the North Sea in a wheelchair-accessible caravan: the destinations, desires, and needs in our fourth season of “We’re off camping!” are as diverse as life itself. We accompany people from North Rhine-Westphalia as they enter the world of camping. Each episode focuses on a family discovering a whole new way of traveling. The fourth season of our service soap opera ran until August 10, 2022, every Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. on WDR.

Season 1 – 3
Whether you are heading to the sea, the lake, the forest or the mountains, whether in a tent, converted bus, caravan or motorhome – there are almost no limits to your freedom to travel when camping. Each episode of “We’re off camping!” takes you to a new and exciting travel destination. But before they get started, our camping newcomers have to make a decision: What does the vehicle they choose need to be capable of? What are they willing to pay for it? Used or new? Build it themselves or buy it finished and ready to go? Potential happy campers will find plenty of inspiration here!

Winterspecial
Rüdiger and Petra Erbslöh are so crazy about camping that they even go camping in the wintertime. With some fairly expensive additional equipment, they winterise their motorhome and then head out: into the Eifel at 14 degrees Fahrenheit, into the snow-covered Oberammergau and for some luxury camping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Campsite test with the Melssen family in the Netherlands
The Melssen family of camping greenhorns have become camping experts in the meantime and have experienced a lot in between. They tested three very different campsites for us in the Netherlands: in the mountains, by the sea and in the middle of Amsterdam.
